How Do I Register?

 

-  Go to MarketPad.com and click on the Sign in/Register link located at the upper right corner of the page.

- You will be on the Sign in Page, just click on the Register button to continue.

- Now you are on the Register for an Account page.

Fill out the information...

If you are a business, please click on the drop list Are you a Business and fill out the information.

Be sure to click on the Register button to continue.

 

How to Create a Business or Personal Profile

Once you have Registered, Welcome!  You will be sent to the My Account page where your Account Dashboard is located.

On upper left of the page, click on Profiles.  You will now be on the My Profiles page.  To create your profile, click on the grey box to begin.

You may have many Profiles, multiple Business Profiles and Personal Profiles.

Click on the Edit Profile to move onto the Business Profile page.

How to Create a Business Profile

You will now be on the Initial Info page, just fill out the information and click on the box to set it as your Main Profile.

1. Basic Info, Initial Info page, edit it as you need, you may type in the company’s web address in place of the MarketPad web address.  Click Next Step.

2. Photos page, click on the gray Add an Image button, find the image you want from your files, you may have unlimited images here to put in your Gallery. The first image will be on your Business Listing cover. You can move the images around by left click/hold on the image and shift the images.  Be sure to add a caption to explain the image. Note: The first five images will be on the printable Flyer. Click Next Step.

3.  Description, About Page, you will have unlimited text, videos, (hosted by YouTube or Vimeo), and images, (images must have a unique URL), to describe your business in greater detail. Note: The first 500 characters will show up on the printable FlyerBe sure to click Next Step to lock-in the changes you have made.

4. Privacy Settings page, choose what you want to show and what you want to keep private and click Next Step.

5. 'Merchant Account page, this is where you may decide to create a Merchant Account so people can use their credit/debit cards to purchase Gift Cards or Deals offered in your Business Listing and your items for sale by clicking Buy Now in the MarketPlace through using Stripe.  If you don't want to create a Merchant Account, just click Save and Complete.

You will now be able to create a Business Listing.


How to Create a Personal Profile

If you wish to have a Personal Profile, click on New Profile, under Personal Profile, click on Create Profile button.  You will be on the Personal Profile, Initial Info page, just fill out the information.
 
 

With a Personal Profile you can list items in our MarketPlace FREE Classifieds.

1.  Basic Info, Initial Info page, edit it as you need, you may type in a different web address in place of the MarketPad web address.  Click Next Step.

2. Photos page, click on the gray Add an Image button, you may have unlimited images here to put in your Gallery. The first image will be on your Personal Listing cover, click Next Step.

3.  Description, About Page, you will have unlimited text and will be able to add images, (images must have a unique URL), and videos, (hosted by YouTube or Vimeo).  Be sure to click Next Step to lock-in the changes you have made.

4.  Privacy Settings page, choose what you want to show and click Next Step.

Your Personal Profile is now complete.

 Now you can return to your Dashboard, just move your cursor over to your name in the upper right corner of the page, and the drop list will appear.

Click on Dashboard and scroll down a bit and click on Post an Item for Sale if you want to use our FREE MarketPlace Classifieds.  If you want to sell your items using the Buy Now feature, you will need to sign up with our Merchant Account.

 

How do I edit my account information?

Your important account information can be edited at any time including email address, password and Username by clicking the Edit User Account link in your Account Dashboard.

You need to Sign In to your account, move your cursor over to the upper right of the page where your name is, and click Account Dashboard from the drop list.  Click the Edit User Account to move on to My Account - Update My Account page.

 Once there, you can edit your email, User Name, address and change your password.  Be sure to scroll down to the bottom of the page and click the Update Account button to finalize it.

 

How to Create a Listing

 

Once you have created your Business Profile, you will be urged to have your business to be Get Listed! by clicking the link on the top of the page.

  • Or you can click on your name in the upper right of the page, a drop down list will appear, click on Dashboard, scroll down a bit and click on Get Your Business Listed.

You will be sent to the Business Listing page.

  1. Initial InfoIt is important to choose which profile you wish to use, and to use your business name in the Title.  Complete the information on the form, you may have up to five Categories to connect to your business.

Keywords are important, you get 10 keywords for every Category you have.  The Categories and Keywords are used for when people Search for your company in MarketPad’s Directory

On the same page, you will be filling out the location information for your business.

Once you have filled in the address information, a map will appear.  If the GEOGRAPHIC PLACEMENT to your business is not correct, you will be able to click and hold down the button on your mouse over the locator symbol to move it to the correct location.

Click Next Step at the bottom of the page.

​2.  Photos - Only the images in the Business Profile will be in your Gallery.  The images on this Listing page are for two same businesses in two different locations.  If this doesn’t apple to you, then click Next Step to continue on.

3.  Features - If there are special features connected with your business, MarketPad will present a list for you to click and choose to be placed on your Business Listing. Click Next Step.

4.  Privacy Settings - You may decide which information you want to show on the front of your Business Listing.  Click the Save & Complete button when you are done.

Be sure to click the PUBLISH NOW button to activate your Business Listing.

Your Business Listing is now created.

How to Create a FREE MarketPlace Listing.

Once you are on your Dashboard page, scroll down a bit and you can click on Post an Item for Sale to access our FREE MarketPlace classifieds.

The example below is from our FREE MarketPlace classified listings.

The BUY NOW button in the example above requires you to complete a Merchant Account which can be found on your Dashboard page.

 

How do I post an ad?

After becoming a Member of MarketPad.com, click the  button in the upper right corner.

Choose your appropriate category and follow the instructions on the New Listing page. You can edit, renew, delete or make changes to your ad as often as you wish. All Business, Real Estate, Vehicle, Jobs, Classifieds, and Events Listing sections are FREE

How do I edit my listing?

MarketPad.com makes it easy to edit your listing as often as you wish. When you have 'Signed In', your name will show up at the upper right corner, just put your cursor over your name and a drop down list will appear.  You may click 'Account Dashboard' or 'My Listings'  to access those pages.

Click on the Listing you'd like to edit, on the next page toward the left, click on 'Edit', make any changes you wish, and be sure to click 'Next Step' or 'All Done' when finished. Your ad will reflect the changes you've made.

 

        

How do I change my password?

How to Change a Password

Your Account Dashboard has a direct link to change your password. Simply, Sign In to access your account, click on Account Dashboard from the drop list by your name in the upper right, then click on Edit User Account to continue to the My Account, Update Info page where you can change your Password or any other edits that you wish to do.

 Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page and click the Update Account button to finalize it.

 

 

I tried to become a member but I never received an email from you. What should I do?

Upon registering, you will be prompted to include your email address in order for MarketPad.com to communicate with you. Make sure your email address is spelled correctly before submitting.  If messages from us are in your spam folder, make sure you mark them as Not Spam if your email server allows that, in order to direct future emails from MarketPad.com directly to your inbox.

How do I post a free classified ad?

All MarketPad.com MarketPlace classifieds ads including our Real Estate, Vehicles, Jobs, and Events Listings are FREE. To create a Listing, go to the upper right of the page and click on Sign In/Register.  On the Sign In page, become a Member by clicking on the Register button and you will be on the Register for an Account page.

 Please fill out the information and click on the Register! button at the bottom of the page.

You will now be on the My Account - Dashboard page, scroll down a bit and click on Post an item for sale.

On the New Listing page, click on the MarketPlace button.  Once on the MarketPlace Listing page, please fill out the information and follow the steps. You will have unlimited images, text and videos to showcase your item for sale.

The BUY NOW button in the example above requires you to complete a Merchant Account which can be found on your Dashboard page.

 

How often can I edit or update my ad?

You can edit or update your ad as often as you wish. 24/7/365.

How do I upload photos?

When you create a Listing you will find a section in the Business Profile marked Photos that will be seen in your Gallery, click on the Add an Image button.

A pop-up Upload a new Image will appear, click the Choose File button and search your computer folders for the image you’d like to upload, then type in a caption to describe the image if you wish, next, click the Upload button.

By repeating the process, you will be able to have unlimited images added to your Listing. The first image will be one seen on the front of your Business Listing.  If you want to change it, left-click-hold on your mouse on the image you want to be first and drag it to the first position.

I created my ad but I don’t see it in the search results, what should I do?

If you feel you filled out your ad correctly and it isn’t showing up in the results, first check to make sure you have activated the Listing by clicking the Publish Now button.

Also, make sure that when you look for your Listing in search results, you are looking in the proper Zip Code area. All of our listings are searched for and located based on zip code and the chosen radius that follows.

 It is also important make sure that the map is correct, if the location is in the wrong place, sign into your account and click on your Listing, then click on the map icon and move it to the correct place, click Next Step or All Done.

There is a link to all your Listings in your Account Dashboard. That link will show the status of every listing you have on the site.

 

Can I include an HTML tag in my profile?

Once you have Signed In to your account, choose the Listing that you want to add the HTML into, in the Description area.

Click on the Source button to add the tag.

Our Description text area contains a Text Editor that allows you to insert links directly into the About Page.  You need to Sign In to your account and click on the Listings on the left side of the page, click on the Listing you want to work on, once you are on the Business Listing, click on Edit, and then click on the Edit Business Profile button.

Once you are in the 'About Page' - 'Description' area, you can type or copy/paste the link that you want to add into the text area.  Left click, hold and drag over the link to highlight it, then go to the Text Editor and click on the Link button. Follow instructions.  You can also Link with images in the Description Area, click on the image to highlight it, click on the Link button, and copy/paste the link into the correct space, click OK.

 

How do I add a video to my page?

Sign In, scroll over to your name and view the drop list, click on My Listings, choose which Listing you want to add a video to, and click on that Listing, then click on Edit.  On The Business Listing Page, click on the Edit Business Profile button, it will take you right to the Description area.  On another tab, make sure you have your video hosted on a video site – either YouTube.com or Vimeo.com. Most video sites like YouTube have a Share or Embed button near the video. Click that button and a short code will pop up or copy the URL at the top of the page. Copy that Code or URL (there may be a ‘copy’ link) and return to the tab with the Description area is already open, choose the spot where you’d like your video to appear with your cursor, click the YouTube video button and paste the Code or URL from the original video page into the correct slot.  The width of 640 is rather large, you can make it smaller to fit better, once you’re done, click OK.

 

How do I create a Deal?

To offer a Deal discount for your customers, Sign In to your account, scroll your cursor over to your name and view the drop list, click on Account Dashboard.

First of all, you need to set up a Merchant Account to create a Deal for your customers to buy online. On your Account Dashboard, scroll down a bit and click on Connect a Merchant Account.

On the Add New Merchant Account page, click on Go.  On the Merchants Accounts page, click on Connect with Stripe.  On the next page, just follow Stipes's instructions.

Once you have a Merchant Account set up, go back to the Account Dashboard and scroll down a bit and click on Offer a Deal.

Remember:  A Deal is a discounted offer for a SPECIFIC item or service.

Ex:  $8.00 off extra-large $20.00 pepperoni and sausage pizza for a limited time.

 On the Offer a new Deal or Coupon page, click on the Deal - Choose' button.  Just follow the instructions on the New Deal page and be sure to click Create Deal when you are done.  Now your customers will be able to purchase your Deal online with their credit cards.

The Deal voucher will be printed out by your customers and brought in to you.  When you create a Deal, you are in control of how much of a discount you want to offer, for how long, and how many to use.

 

How do I create a coupon?

Sign In to your account, scroll the cursor over to your name at the upper right and a drop list will appear.  Click on Account Dashboard, scroll down a bit and click on Offer a Deal.

 Remember:  A Coupon is for a smaller discount.  It is a great way to encourage the business owner to feel comfortable with our features and building a relationship with the owner. The business owner doesn’t need a Merchant Account for a regular coupon, it is a FREE coupon creation.

Ex: 10% discount on lunch menu, coupon valid only during the hours between 2:00 pm and 4:00 pm on Tuesdays.

Once you’re on the 'Offer a new Deal or Coupon' page, click the regular 'Coupon' 'Choose' button.  Follow the instructions on the following page. Be sure to scroll to the bottom of the page and click the 'Create Coupon' button when you are finished. Your Coupon will be printed out by your customers and brought in for you to redeem.

 

Gift Card Information

To create a MarketPad Gift Card, just Sign In to access your Dashboard.

To be able to accept credit card purchases on your Business Listinyou will need to set up a Merchant Account.  Go to your Account Dashboard, scroll down a bit, click on Connect a Merchant Account. On the Add New Merchant Account page, click on Go.  On the Merchants Accounts page, click on Connect with Stripe.  On the next page, just follow Stipes's instructions

Once you have your 'Merchant Account' active, you can return to your 'Dashboard' and click on 'Create a Gift Card'.

Remember:  A Gift Card is the same as full cash value of what is offered and not discounted in most cases. Gift Cards don’t have expiration dates, only Limited Number Available.

Ex:  $40.00 Gift Card good on anything in the Flower Shop. Only 20 Gift Cards Available.

A MarketPad Deal Voucher can be redeemed by taking these simple steps:

Login to your MarketPad Account to access your Account Dashboard, on the left-hand side menu, select Look-up Sold Deals.

Match the sold Deal Voucher Code with the voucher code that is on the MarketPad Voucher, select Redeem Now?, you may add an optional Receipt/Invoice Number (for your tracking needs), select Redeem Now.

The MarketPad Deal has now been redeemed, complete with date and time of redemption and a receipt number, ensuring that this Deal has now been redeemed and cannot be used in the future.

To add an image in the Description area, you may use the images that you have placed in the Listings GalleryOn another tab, find the image in the Gallery, click on it to enlarge the image.  Right click on the image, click on Open Image in New Tab, click on the new tab and copy the URL.  Return to the tab with the Description area is already open, click in the area where you want to the image to appear, click on the Image icon in the Text Editor.  Paste the unique URL in the space, click on the Width size, 300 or less works best, make any other edits you wish, then click OK.

You may also use a free web site called Photobucket.com, open a new tab to the web site.  Once you’re on Photobucket, Click on Select from Computer, find your image file with the picture that you want to use and double click on the selected image.  It will take you back to Photobucket, click on Upload, on the next page, once the image is there, click on Save.  On the next page, you will be given several URL’s to choose from, click on the Direct URL, and it will say CopiedReturn to the tab with the Description is area already open, click in the area where you want to the image to appear, click on the Image icon in the Text Editor.  Paste the unique URL in the space, click on the Width size, 300 or less works best, make any other edits you wish, then click OK.

The Text Editor is a great way to fix up the Description area, practice what each of the buttons do to become familiar with it and to utilize your creativity.

To be able to accept credit card purchases on your Business Listing you will need to set up a Merchant Account.  Go to your Account Dashboard, scroll down a bit, click on Connect a Merchant Account.  On the Add New Merchant Account page, click on Go.  On the Merchants Accounts page, click on the blue button Connect with Stripe.  On the next page, just follow Stipes's instructions and you may now have the full benefit of selling your Gift Cards, Deals, and your Buy Now items for sale nationally.

 

How do I share or email a listing?

How to Share Listings on Social Media

Every Listing/Deal/Gift Card/Offer has a FREE Share Section on the left-hand side of the Listing, (i.e. Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Google+, and Email). Click the appropriate link and/or the PLUS (+) Sign and you could instantly share your listing with over 300 Social Media Outlets, you may find some sites that you are already connected with, or you will find some that you’re interested in joining for FREE.

By utilizing this important tool that MarketPad offers, you will be able to advertise for FREE and your Listing will go out like the branches of a tree, letting all your followers know what specials you are offering in real-time no matter where they are located.

Remember:  You will need to be logged into your MarketPad account and your Social Media account that you wish to use on another tab.  Once you share the Listing on your MarketPad account to your chosen Social Media, your Referral Code will be automatically attached and you will get credit if your Sharing leads to a sale.

Just be sure to add a note for your followers to share on their 'Timelines' as well, to be able to draw in new possible customers to the business.

To be able to print out a coupon you first need to Sign in/ Register.

Just Click on the button SIGN IN/REGISTER on the MarketPad Coupon page, or go to the upper right corner and click on Sign in/Register.

You will be on the Sign in page, if you already have an account with us, just log in with your User Name (or the Email you already registered with), then you type in your Password.  Find the coupon you wish to print out and click on it and proceed to click on Print.

If you haven't Registered yet,

-  Go to MarketPad.com and click on the Sign in/Register link located at the upper right corner of the page.

- You will be on the Sign in Page, just click on the Register button to continue.

- Now you are on the Register for an Account page.

Fill out the information...

(If you are a business and wish to create a FREE Business Listing to be in our Business Directory , please click on the drop list Are you a Business and fill out the information.)

Be sure to click on the Register button to continue.

Click on the Browse button and click on Deals & Coupons.

Choose which Coupon you wish to print out and click on it.  Click on Print to create your coupon, then deliver it to the coupons Business to have it redeemed.

Log into your MarketPad Account, click on Look up Sold Gift Cards to the left of the page. Use the Card Code to find the correct Gift Card.  Click on the View button of the sold Gift Card.  Use the Add Transaction button and follow the next steps. (Adding the transaction will automatically deduct from the available balance until it reaches Zero).

How long does each ad stay active?

All of our FREE ads are active until you Delete or Deactivate them when your item sells. Your Business Listing are also active until you remove them.

How do I delete an ad?

MarketPad.com makes it easy to delete any ad for any reason. As a Member, when you sign in, your name will appear at the upper right of the page, put your cursor over your name and a drop down list will appear.  Click on 'Account Dashboard' or 'My Listings', then select the ad you’d like to delete. Select 'Delete' and then confirm delete by selecting 'OK' on the pop-up. Your ad is now removed from the system.

 

Why are my photos taking so long to upload?

If your photos are taking too long to upload consider resizing them with any photo editing software. Ideally, the photos shouldn't be larger than 2MB in size.  It is also best not to have a copy of a very small image, as you try to enlarge it, it may appear out of focus, fuzzy, or distorted .

How long will my listing stay active?

Your Listing will stay active until you decide to delete it manually.

How do I extend my listing?

As the time frame for your ad comes close to expiration, you will be offered the option of extending the ad. To extend your ad, 'Sign In' and then move your cursor to your name in the upper right, a drop list of options will appear, click on your 'Account Dashboard' or 'My Listings', and then choose and click on the ad you want to continue to use. On the Listing ad, click on 'Renew' to extended for another year or until you decide to delete it.

How do people respond to the ad if I don’t include my contact information?

If you choose not to include any detailed contact information, users will still be able to contact you by clicking the Contact Lister button. You will receive a note on the email you provided to MarketPad informing you that you have a message.  You will need to Sign In to your account to view the message and respond to it if you wish.

 

How do I receive messages from other users?

Other users have the ability to send you a message through our MarketPad.com messaging system. When MarketPad.com receives a message for you, we will send a note to the email that you registered with letting you know you have mail. That note will contain a direct link to the message you have received, you will then need to Sign In to your account to read and respond if necessary.

To view your messages, select Inbox on the left of your Dashboard Page.

 

What types of ads are prohibited?

Scroll to the bottom of the page, click on our Terms to read our policy in it’s entirety. Any ad containing or with links directing to any illegal activities, including violations of Fair Housing Laws, Equal Opportunity Laws, Obscenity Laws, as well as ads containing profanity or nudity will be removed from our system immediately along with the users. Additionally, any ads impersonating or harassing other Members, containing hate speech as defined by MarketPad.com 'Terms and Conditions' will be removed and in all cases users will be removed from our system immediately.

 

Who can see my ad?

Anyone, anywhere in the world who has access to the internet can view your Listing. Users can search by location, price, keywords and other criteria to narrow down their list of results. All ads, profiles and listings are viewable by all users of MarketPad.com.

How do I contact a seller/business/advertiser?

Depending on whether the seller, business, or advertiser has included their contact information, you can either phone or email them directly by using their information provided, or if not present, you can click Contact Lister on the Listing itself.

Or...

This will send the seller or advertiser a message through our MarketPad.com messaging system and they will be alerted through their own email address that they have a message.

 

Do you sell my email address?

No. MarketPad.com will NEVER sell any email addresses.

What do I do if another member harasses me or sends me negative comments?

Please email us at Support@MarketPad.net immediately if you are being harrassed or somebody is sending you negative comments. In your email, please provide as much information as possible so we can identify the Listing or the user and remedy the issue.

You have the ability to delete comments, but it will show that a comment was deleted.

Just Sign In to your account, go to the drop down list by your name in the upper right of the page, and click on My Listings.  Click on the Listing that you want to edit, scroll down to the comment section and click Delete on the chosen comment.

What do I do if another member impersonates me?

Please email us at Support@MarketPad.net immediately. In your email please provide as much information as possible so we can identify the ad and the user. We cooperate 100% with all law enforcement on these issues.

What do I do if I pay for an item and the seller never sends it or is unreachable?

If you’re involved in a transaction where the seller has not sent the item upon receipt of payment, please let us know by emailing us at Support@marketpad.net so we can look into it on the site, and so we can be prepared to provide whatever help we can to police and other investigators. While MarketPad.com cares about your online experience and wants every transaction to be a positive one, MarketPad.com is not involved in any transaction and we do not monitor or guarantee any transaction.

How do I report an ad that’s offensive and/or includes nudity or profanity?

Every Listing contains a link that enables users to Report Listing to inform MarketPad.com about an offensive or profane ad. By clicking that link you are acknowledging that you have read and understand our Terms and Conditions. Misuse of MarketPad.com's Report Ad link or other monitoring systems in any way, including using the flagging tool to remove ads of competitors is a violation of our Terms and Conditions and will result in expulsion from MarketPad.com.

 

Why have I not received my money?

If for some reason you do not receive payment from Stripe, one of the main reasons that this issue occurs is because you did not verify your account. Please ensure that you have complied with all of the requirements that Stripe employs. They will contact you via email or bank account deposit information for further instruction.

How to Submit a Closing as a Network Strategist

How to Submit a Closing as a Network Strategist

Once you have Registered a business, or created a Deal and/or a Gift Card.  You must do a Closing for each of them in order to notify MarketPad’s Administrators of your connection with the business.  Upon the Closings approval by the Administrators, the Strategist will get credit (paid) for any future sales of that business’ Deals/Gift Cards that will be linked to your User Name - Referral Code.

You will need to Sign In onto your account, to the left of the page, scroll down a bit, and click on Affiliate Tools – Closings.  On the Affiliate Tools page, you will be able to view your Lead Closings, if you have a new Closing, click on Report Lead.

You will now be on the Report Closing page where you fill out the necessary information.

Be sure to use a Lead Title that will describe the Closing such as the business’ name, then copy/paste on the MarketPad URL section the URL of the Account Profile, Deal, Gift Card, or Product that you helped create with the business you’re working with. In the Lead Type drop list, click on the correct description of the URL.

You may have already created a Business Listing for a business prospect under your personal account.  Once they have finished Registering onto MarketPad, click on the Transfer The Profile box to have it approved by an Administrator, a quick call to the MarktPad office Admin will speed things up.  Add any Comments that will help in your relationship with the business.

Finish up with clicking Create Closing.

How to Create a Referral URL Generator and QR Code an a Network Strategist

The Referral URL Generator and QR Code are tools to attach your User Name - Referral Code to the URL of a Deal/Gift Card that you want to advertise in order to get credit for when the Deal/Gift Card sells online.

You will need to Sign In onto your account, to the left of the page, scroll down a bit, and click on Affiliate Tools – Other Tools.  On the Other Tools page, you will be able to utilize the URL Generator.

You will need to find which MarketPad Deal/Gift Card you wish to share, copy the URL and paste it in the Referral URL Generator space.  Click on the Generate button.

Your personal User Name – Referral code is now imbedded and properly formatted into the URL, you will now be able to get credit when a Deal/Gift Card sells due to your Sharing.
